This lightweight, tough aluminium tool ensures every hole cup is set to the precise 1-inch depth, meeting R&A and USGA rules. It eliminates guesswork, providing a consistent playing surface and is also useful for bedding in plastic stabiliser rings.
Consistency is key to a professional course, and that includes the depth of your hole cups. Our Aluminium Hole Cup Setter is a straightforward, practical tool designed for one job: setting cups to the precise R&A and USGA mandated depth of 1-inch (25.4mm) below the green’s surface. No more measuring, no more guesswork, just the right depth, every time.
Manufactured in the UK from durable, corrosion-resistant aluminium, it’s light enough to carry around easily but tough enough to last. The design also provides a solid base for tamping down, helping to install plastic stabiliser rings firmly and prevent them from shifting. It’s a simple, reliable tool that makes a small but important job quicker and more accurate.
After cutting the hole, place the hole cup inside. Put the Aluminium Hole Cup Setter on top of the cup. The setter’s depth stop ensures the cup sits exactly 1-inch below the turf. Gently tamp down on the setter until it is flush with the green’s surface. Your cup is now set at the correct depth.
