For quick, professional turf repairs that actually stay put, the Square Turf Doctor is a simple, effective tool. It’s designed to remove a precise 9-inch (23cm) square sod with a unique pyramid shape, allowing you to fix major divots or damaged areas in moments. Because the deep plug is held firmly by undisturbed soil wedges, the playing surface remains firm, stable, and ready for immediate use.

This clever design means you can make a complete repair with no gaps left between the sods, ensuring the true surface level is perfectly maintained. There’s no rocking or sinking that you get with shallower repair methods. The deep extraction also ensures minimal root loss, so recovery is very quick. It’s a straightforward, heavy-duty tool, proudly made in the UK, for greenkeepers and groundsmen who need repairs done right the first time.

The unit comes complete with four blades, ready to go. We recommend using it with a BMS Dead Blow Hammer or Rubber Mallet to drive the blades cleanly into the turf.

Specifications:

How It Works

Place the Square Turf Doctor over the damaged area. Use a BMS Dead Blow Hammer or Rubber Mallet to drive the four blades into the ground until the frame is flush with the turf. Lift the tool out to cleanly remove the 9-inch square plug. Take a fresh plug from your nursery area using the same method and place it into the hole for a perfect fit.

FAQ

Q1: How soon can repaired areas be played on?

A1: Immediately after repair due to the unique pyramid cut design.

Q2: What is the lifespan of the blades?

A2: This depends on usage frequency and soil conditions. The blades can be sharpened with an angle grinder (using suitable safety equipment). Replacement blades are also available (SKU: 15095).
