This BMS Standard 1-inch Hand Held Soil Sampler is a simple, reliable tool for quick, everyday checks on turf health. It pulls a clean 1-inch (25mm) core, allowing easy examination of thatch, root depth, and soil moisture through its large cut-out window.

This is our classic, go-to hand tool for straightforward soil sampling. If you’re an agronomist, greenkeeper, or groundsman who needs a reliable way to perform daily checks on turf health, this is it. It’s designed for simplicity and durability, letting you quickly assess everything from thatch build-up and root development to moisture content and soil composition.

The sampler pulls a standard 1-inch (25mm) diameter core, giving you a representative sample without causing unnecessary disruption to the surface. The core is easily viewed through the large tine window, and just as easily ejected. Made from high-quality steel with a comfortable handle, it’s a practical tool that’s built to last. We manufacture it right here in our UK workshop, so you know it’s made properly. It’s the kind of tool you’ll have for years.
