Instructions for Achieving the Perfect Lawn

  1. Select the Right Tool: Different sizes cater to different needs, from small suburban lawns to expansive football pitches. BMS offers a range of sizes, including the 28″ Flip-Over Levelawn, the 38″ Levelawn Levelawn, and the 46″ Levelawn.
  2. Preparation: Lay down your top dressing material of choice across the area you intend to level.
  3. Using the Tool: Hold the handle of the Levelawn or Lute and drag it across the surface to distribute the material.
  4. Review and Repeat: Examine the levelled area and repeat the process as needed, perhaps using a light rake to smooth out any lingering imperfections.
  5. Watering: Conclude by watering the area to help settle the material.

Why Choose a Levelawn?

  • Even Surface Finish — eliminates humps and hollows for true ball roll and a manicured look
  • Perfect Top-Dressing Spread — distributes sand / loam /compost uniformly for better drainage and seed-to-soil contact
  • Stone & Debris Capture — patented three-bar head
(38 in, 46 in) traps small stones while leaving a velvet-smooth finish
  • Premium Materials — stainless-steel heads  ⟶ zero rust, no paint flakes, clinically clean operation
  • Heavy-Duty 6 ft Aluminium Handles — rigid, light, and corrosion-proof for fatigue-free use

Typical Applications

  • Top-dressing & overseeding preparation (500 g – 4 kg m²)
  • Light levelling of humps & dips on tees, greens, cricket squares
  • Smoothing compost or sand after aeration to fill cores
  • Collecting stones or debris before the first cut

Operating Tips

  1. Select Model — 36–48 in for one-person push/pull
  2. Distribute Material — drop measured clumps of top dressing across the surface
  3. Push & Pull (small models) — maintain light downward pressure; finish with gentle pulls for the finest skim.
  4. Water Lightly — mist the surface to settle the dressing once levelling is complete.

Common Questions

Q • Will stainless steel contaminate my soil?
A — No. Stainless heads are clinically clean and will never flake paint or rust into the root-zone.

Q • Can I use pure sand?
A — Yes for firm, fast surfaces (golf greens), but a 70/30 sand/loam mix gives better nutrient retention on most lawns.
